What to expect from a caregiver
Nursing support is arranged around the care your doctor or the health authority has already set out. We work to that, keep notes, and tell you when something changes rather than waiting to be asked.
You will be told what is being done and why. Nobody should find out what happened in their own house by reading a chart.
If something needs a doctor, we say so. Knowing when to escalate is a large part of the job.
Common questions
Do you replace the care I get through the health authority?
No. This sits alongside it. Tell us on the call what is already in place so we are adding to it rather than duplicating it.
Can you visit more often at first and then less?
Yes, and that is the usual shape after a hospital stay. Support is heaviest in the first weeks and tapers as things steady.
What happens if you notice something is wrong?
We tell you, and we tell whoever else needs to know. If it is urgent we say so plainly rather than leaving it in a note.
