Work at ABCare
We are always interested in support workers, care assistants, and nurses who want the time to do the job properly. Tell us what you do and we will tell you what we have.

What working here is like
ABCare supports adults through the Disability Support Program, provides home care to families, and supplies staff to facilities. Which of those you work in depends on what you do and what you want — some people stay in one, others move between them.
We match workers to the people they support and try hard to keep those pairings in place. That is better for the person receiving support, and it is a different job from being sent somewhere new every shift.
The helpline runs around the clock, so there is somebody to call when something happens on a visit that you have not seen before.
The kinds of work we take people on for
We are not listing vacancies here. Send your details and we will tell you what is open.
Support workers
Day-to-day support for adults through the Disability Support Program — community access, routines, skills, and the ordinary business of living somewhere.
Home care and personal care
In-home support for families: personal care, meals, mobility, companionship, and keeping a household running.
Nursing
Medication management, wound care, health monitoring, and post-surgical support, in homes and in facilities.
Facility shifts
Coverage in hospitals, long-term care, and community organisations — short notice, planned leave, and longer placements.
What we look for
- You treat the people you support as people, and you can tell the difference between helping somebody and doing things at them.
- You turn up when you said you would, and you call when you cannot.
- You write down what happened, accurately, including the parts that did not go well.
- You hold the certification the work needs, and you can show it.
